We told you about Rihanna's alleged economic woes, how Jermaine Dupri bounced payroll checks and was forced to close his restaurant, Swizz Beats owes close to a million in taxes and Dame Dash is losing his homes. Even Diddy has been forced to park his jet and fly on commercial airlines because as he put it, "Gas prices are too motherf--king high!" Well it seems Jean Grae is the latest casualty of these hard economic times.
The prolific, critically acclaimed female emcee and producer, Jean Grae, has placed an ad on craigslist.com selling her services. The ad, placed on September 18, is titled "Jean Grae will do original verses...For $$$, lol". In the ad Jean Grae promises to give you a Hot 16 for only $800, and it's negiotiable!
Jean Grae's ad reads:
So, the economy sucks.... I apparently have another unauthorized album for sale dropping Sept 30th and I figure, if everyones gonna make money offa me, why not make it directly and directly to the people who really love this shit anyway.
Out the hands of big business, straight to you.

As stated in the ad, Jean Grae did in fact confirm this on her MySpace page and we're happy to report she has completed her first sale.
Jean Grae may be onto something here, after all she did major in Music Business at NYU.
If you don't know who Jean Grae is I advise that you get better acquainted with this dope emcee who Talib Kweli calls "one of the last true emcees left". Jean has recorded with some of hip hop's best, including Busta Rhymes, Atmosphere, The Roots, Talib Kweli, The Herbaliser, Da Beatminerz, Phonte, Mr. Len, Masta Ace, Vordul Mega, C-Rayz Walz, and Immortal Technique, just to name a few. Jean Grae has been hailed as one of the best female emcees ever.
She's currently signed to Talib Kweli's BlackSmith Records but has been embroiled in beef with the label and as her ad states they are releasing an album that she does not approve of. Earlier this year Jean was so fed up with the label politics that she threatened to quit the business altogether by posting a goodbye message to her fans via her MySpace page.
