Kanye West to Reveal New Album at VMA Performance Tonight

Kanye West, who last year dissed MTV's VMAs and vowed to never attend another show, has had a change of heart and will close out the award show tonight (Sept. 7th).  The network is billing it as an "explosive finale," and judging with the reviews of his "Glow in the Dark Tour" we're sure it will be.

According to sources Kanye will announce plans for a new album on tonight's show.  In a move that caught fans by surprise, word leaked out this week that Kanye is set to release the followup to his "Graduation" cd before the year's end.  Furthering the rumors is the fact that Def Jam has confirmed that a new Kanye track, "Love Lockdown" will be available for download on iTunes this Monday (Sept. 8th).

The 25th Annual VMA will air live on MTV Sunday, September 7 at 9PM from Hollywood's Paramount Studios.  The show will feature the greatest stars in the music industry.  Britney Spears will not performing but will open the show with host Russell Brand.

Confirmed performances include:

Lil Wayne

Kid Rock

T.I.

Rihanna

Christine Aguliera

Katy Perry

Pink

Paramore

Lupe Fiasco

Ting Tings

Kanye West

DJ AM and drummer Travis Barker will be mixing live drum beats to scratched records throughout the show and the duo will celebrate the past 25 years of music by collaborating with Katy Perry, Lupe Fiasco and the Ting Tings on new and past hits.

On Thursday, MTV rolled out a long list of additional presenters, who've been confirmed for tonight's VMAs. They include Jamie Foxx, "Gossip Girl" star Chace Crawford, a very pregnant Ashlee Simpson, John Legend, Kobe Bryant, Leona Lewis, Paris Hilton, Slash, Taylor Swift, Shia LaBeouf and "The Hills" gang — Lauren Conrad, Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt. Previously announced VMA presenters include Michael Phelps, Miley Cyrus, Lindsay Lohan, Scarlett Johansson, Ciara, Zac Efron, Vanessa Hudgens, Ashley Tisdale, Corbin Bleu, Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, Taylor Lautner and Christopher "McLovin" Mintz-Plasse.

Tune in tonight.
