A list of the most infamous chain snatchings in Hip Hop history


Inspired by Yung Berg's recent beating and robbery, Complex magazine has put together a list of the history of chain snatchings in  Hip Hop.  From Rakim and LL to the most recent Tyga and Yung Berg robberies, the chronological list includes the victims and the alleged perpetrators.  As a bonus, since there's rarely a police report to verify the robberies and sometimes the rumors are unfounded, they rate the validity of the claims along with how damaging it was to the artists' street cred or career.


The list includes:


2008 - Yung Berg's robbery allegedly at the hands of Trick Trick's associates, probabililty that it happened 100%


2008 - Tyga's robbery allegedly by 40 Glocc, probability that it happened 100%


2008 - 50 Cent's chain snatched at a concert in Africa, probability that it happened 100%


2007 - Jim Jones allegedly robbed by Tru Life, probability 30%


2007 - Young Buck allegedly robbed by Nashville Thugs, probability 15%


2006 - D-Tay of G-Unit allegedly robbed by Cabrini Green Thugs, probability 100%


2005 - Fat Joe allegedly robbed by an internet thug, probability 50%


2000 - Prodigy allegedly robbed by "himself"?  probability 100%


1999 - Shaq & Nas robbed at Source Awards allegedly by gang members, probability 20%


1999 - Ja Rule allegedly robbed by 50 cent, probability 100%


1996 - Death Row member allegedly robbed by Orlando Anderson, probability 100%


1995 - Ice Cube allegedly robbed by Kam & B-Real's associates, probability 100%


Late 80's - Rakim & LL Cool J allegedly robbed by Kelvin "50 Cent" Martin, probability 60%
