Game ordered to seek mediation in court case for assaulting and pulling out a gun on a basketball coach

The Game has been ordered to seek mediation in a civil lawsuit brought upon him by a pro-amateur coach, Shannon Roderick, who has accused Game of assault, battery, negligence, and civil rights violations stemming from an attack at a celebrity basketball game.

Suit claims that on February 7, 2007, at the Rita Walters Educational Learning Complex in a South Los Angeles, at a Nike City Hoops celebrity basketball game, the Game was playing for a team called Lite'em Up, against Roderick's Blazers.  The Blazers had a substantial lead over Game's team when the rapper approached their bench and said, "Your team is garbage" and "You guys are a bunch of bustas."  Then as Roderick was turning to face the rapper, Game punched him in his face then said, I'm going to blast this fool," and went to his car to get his gun.  Roderick hid in the gym until The Game left.

As a result of this case Game, real name Jayceon Taylor, has already pleaded no contest to possession of a firearm in a school zone and sentenced to 60 days in jail, three years probation and 150 hours of community service, in criminal court.  In March of this year The Game served eight days in jail and was released.

If Game does not seek mediation, as ordered by the judge, then Roderick's lawyer can pursue a default judgement.

The Game is scheduled to release his new album, L.A.X., on August 26th.
