Violence at the Ozone Awards 

This past weekend Houston, Texas hosted the 3rd Annual Ozone Awards.  The Ozone Awards, sponsored by Ozone Magazine, serves as a talent showcase, networking event, and awards show for southern hip hop artists.

Unfortunately, at a time when we should be discussing the performances and the winners of the awards, we instead finding ourselves discussing physical altercations between artists.

The first is the Rick Ross and DJ Vlad incident.  According to reports mixtape DJ and video producer, DJ Vlad was interviewing Rick Ross but when he asked Ross about the allegations that he was a corrections officer, Ross' entourage attacked DJ Vlad and broke his camera.  As of this writing neither of them have issued a statement regarding the incident.

The second incident happened backstage at the Ozone Awards between Mike Jones and Trae the Truth.  According to witnesses the two Texans were talking when without warning Trae punched Mike Jones in the face.  The blow caused heavy bleeding from Jones' nose.  While the punch itself was not caught on tape, the subsequent melee was.  Both artist have issued statements and you can hear them below.
