Kanye West Buys Into Hamburger Fast Food Chain

Seems Kanye West is looking to diversify his business holdings beyond music and get into the hamburger fast food business.  Crain's Chicago has announced that West through his company, KW Foods LLC, has become a franchisor of Fatburger.  He has bought the exclusive rights to bring the hamburger chain to Chicago, his hometown.  The deal gives Kanye the right to develop ten locations within the Chicago area.  According to the paper one location is set to open in September and two more are in various stages of development.

In becoming a Fatburger franchisor West joins the likes of Magic Johnson and Montell Williams who both have stakes in the parent company and, fellow franchisors and rappers, E-40 and Queen Latifah.  E-40 was the first to bring Fatburger to Northern California and according to TMZ Queen Latifah is opening a location in Miami.

Fatburger was founded by Lovie Yancy in 1952, in Los Angeles California.  Currently Fatburger has 93 locations in the U.S., Canada and China.
