NAS Disses Fox

Sex sells, beef sells, but what's the ultimate price? How will this new generation define Hip Hop? Ass shaking and beef? Are the women suppose to just shake their ass while the men fight? What message does this send to young impressionable minds? Where is Hip Hop going? While a handful get rich, the culture, as a whole, is dying because of this. A culture needs morals and values, it needs to stand for something and unite its members, it needs strong leaders that can bring the people together to collectively address the issues facing it. Hip Hop is being attacked and raped. Too many people, and companies, are getting rich, pimping out the culture, using it for their benefit, and not contributing anything of value to it. The sad part is that most aren't even aware of what or how it's happening.
I disagree with many critics, and Hip Hop purist, who say certain music isn't Hip Hop. I believe that just serves to divide and conquer us. Its all Hip Hop on different levels but while Hip Hop needs the Souljah Boys and DL4s, it also needs more rappers like Nas. The spectrum of Hip Hop should be as diverse as its fans. We need to dance and party, but we also need to get serious and talk about real issues affecting our communities and no one does that better than God's Son, Nas. When most people talk about Nas they bring up the Jay Z comparisons and battles, but I never understood that, to me it was always like comparing apples and oranges. They're two different breeds, two different mindsets. Nas can't do what Jay Z does, and vice-versa. Jay could never, or would never, record a song like "Sly Fox", he's too much of a businessman. Nas, on the other hand, is an artist, a social commentator, a musical activist, and a revolutionary. We need Nas, the Hip Hop culture needs Nas, now more than ever.
